Wine, Cuisine, and Jazz create unbeatable fall festival in Snowmass
Here is the latest press release from Snowmass Colorado:
(SNOWMASS VILLAGE, CO) – The word “Harvest” means to gather in a crop, and on September 16, the Snowmass Village Rotary gathers in an incredible edible fall crop of food and wine from around the world for tasting at its annual Wine & Jazz Celebration. The Snowmass Village Mall is the place to be on Saturday afternoon for a fine autumn afternoon of wine and culinary tastings to the sounds of favorite local group Network.
The Snowmass Village Rotary hosts this annual fundraiser to increase grant opportunities for local non-profits and youth organizations. "This is a true local event with a splendid mix of fine wines, music, and a showcase of local eateries at a great price," said event organizer and rotarian Martha O’Keefe. "For only $50 you can sample over 50 wines and 15 restaurants, all for a good cause."
This year’s event on the Snowmass Village Mall runs from 1– 5 p.m. Over 50 wineries are pouring, while 15 of the Roaring Fork Valley’s favorite restaurants and caterers offer tastings of their culinary specialties. Favorite local band “Network” promises to create a jazzy atmosphere on the Mall playing from 2- 5 p.m. A silent auction with over 150 items ranging from jewelry to vacations will be set up in the ticket pavilion as well.
The Snowmass Village Rotary annually gives $8,000 - $10,000 in grants to local nonprofit groups and international projects. Last year this event raised over $13,000 and was granted to youth organizations.
The $50 tickets for this event can be purchased at Sundance Drug and Liquor, Daly Bottle Shop, the Grog Shop and El Jebeverage next to City Market in El Jebel or by contacting event organizer Martha O’Keefe at 970.379.6577 or mokeefe@fentonconstruct.com. Tickets also will be available at the door in the Snowmass Mall. Please note: Due to an overwhelming response, the wine dinner scheduled for Friday, September 15th at the Stonebridge Inn is sold out.
