AIR ACCESS INTO ASPEN/SNOWMASS 2006-2007

New Aircraft

On April 16, 2006, the inaugural flight of the first modern twin-engine regional jet to carry revenue passengers into the Aspen / Pitkin County Airport (ASE) touched down as United Express flight 6707, ushering in a new era of air travel into Aspen/Snowmass.

The new Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets are faster, quieter, more fuel efficient, environmentally friendly and more comfortable than any aircraft in its class, representing a significant upgrade in passenger comfort and convenience.

St. George, Utah based SkyWest Airlines, the largest regional airline in the world with a reputation been built on exceptional customer service and an unwavering commitment to safety, replaced Air Wisconsin as the exclusive operator of all jet flights for United Express into Aspen/Snowmass in April, 2006.

All United Express regional jet flights into Aspen/Snowmass feature United's upgraded "explus" service. This new service offers first class and Economy Plus seating with up to five more inches of legroom.

In June, SkyWest also began operating flights from Delta's Salt Lake City hub into Aspen/Snowmass as Delta Connection.
