Louis Johnson has been performing in comedy clubs, one-nighters, concerts, cruise ships, and casinos since 1983! 320 East Hyman Ave.
Aspen, CO 81611

Aspen's premier performing arts center is located downtown Aspen, 2 blocks off of 82 (Main Street), at the corner of Hyman and Monarch. Paid parking in garage is available 4 blocks away.

Cost: Reserved seating, $35 and $40. On-sale November 27th, 2006.
Tickets are available at The Wheeler Box Office (970) 920-5770 or at www.wheeleroperahouse.com

Music & Biography:

Prolific singer/songwriter/entertainer Robert Earl Keen is the king of the Texas music scene with "Texas-style" enthusiasm, witty lyrics, and ironic humor that translates into entertaining music. Keen is known for "pushing boundaries, evoking emotions, and inspiring deep thoughts " with great songs that are largely musically diverse.
Robert Earl Keen's most notable project- his new CD- "Live At The Ryman" was released on July 11th, 2006. "Live At The Ryman" showcases the music scene and thrives from Keen's high energy concert experience. Recorded at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium, Keen integrates his most popular songs, along with his lively on-stage entertainment. Additionally, a new live DVD of "Live at the Ryman" was released on October 3rd, 2006, and offers the most up to date live video performance from Keen and is a must-have for all of his fans.
"There is just no arguing that the man is a terrific performer who knows how to work a crowd... the crowd on this disc is loud and wildly enthusiastic, frequently singing along with Keen and chanting his name between songs, and Keen and his band serve up the hits just the way the fans want 'em. Keen seems pretty jazzed by the crowd's enthusiasm, and he and his band deliver these 14 songs with a large portion of energy." - TexasGigs.com (Oct 2006)
The Houston native's music career started as a porch-front guitar hobby at Texas A&M University, where he found his ability to incorporate his rhymes into song lyrics. During this time, he and Lyle Lovett became friends and co-wrote a song, "This Old Porch," which both later recorded.
Keen's unique and eclectic blend of musical talents illustrates a homemade fusion of country, rock, folk, funk and blues. He has notably received some of the best reviews of his career for his album, What I Really Mean, which was released in 2005. The critically acclaimed CD, features his hit single, "The Great Hank." Entertainment Weekly writes, "...he shows he's still funny and acerbic, walking on the odd side with 'The Great Hank'..."
The career of Robert Earl Keen, the most successful artist that many Americans have never heard is quite impressive. He's had his songs recorded by George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, the Dixie Chicks and the Highwaymen (Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash & Kris Kristofferson); appeared in such prestigious publications as Playboy and Men's Journal; performed on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and "The Today Show"; and played concert venues steadily for more than 20 years.
"The versatile Keen successfully blends various musical cultures and his set lists are as romanticized as the people he sings about. Having sold-out shows from Maine to Mexico over the past ten years, Robert Earl Keen's superstar status should prove a dynamic performance for all." www.robertearlkeen.com
