Stay Aspen Snowmass Holiday Travel Update - Denver Airport Closed until Noon Tomorrow

As most of you are probably aware right now, DIA has stated that the earliest they expect to reopen is 12:00 Noon TOMORROW, meaning all flights in and out of Denver through midday tomorrow have also been cancelled.

Nearly all flights in and out of ASE have resumed from all airports except Denver, including United's flights from Chicago and LAX, Delta’s flights from Salt Lake, and US Airways' flight from Phoenix. I can assure everyone that United is working really, really hard to start moving the backlog of thousands of guests who have already been impacted by cancelled flights, and I hope to be able to share some news later today regarding additional flights they are attempting to create into alternative airports bypassing DEN to get things moving, again.

Meanwhile, I want to thank so many of our lodging partners for being so flexible and willing to allow guests to reschedule their trips when they can get here in most cases. We are all in this travel debacle together, and a storm of this nature hasn't impacted travel to Colorado on this magnitude since 1982. I'm sure you all can imagine that I am fielding a nonstop barrage of inquiries from the media of how our inbound Christmas travelers are being impacted and how they are being treated. It is incredibly reassuring to be able to tell the media that most of our properties are being incredibly flexible, understanding and accommodating given the circumstances.

What we are finding is that the vast majority of our stranded guests are still bound and determined to get here and are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.

I will continue to try to keep everyone updated as we learn more.

- Bill
