BROADWAY'S PAIGE PRICE AND HADLEY FRASER STAR IN THEATRE ASPEN'S "THE LAST FIVE YEARS"
July 30, 2007 (Aspen, Colo.) - Leading Broadway musical theatre stars Paige Price and Hadley Fraser will star in Theatre Aspen's production of the two-hander musical The Last Five Years, by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, directed by David Ledingham.
The show opens with previews on August 7th, a gala opening on August 9th and runs in repertory through September 1st at the Theatre Tent in Rio Grande Park, Aspen. Tickets are available in advance at the Wheeler Opera House Box Office 970-920-5770.
A thoroughly modern musical play, The Last Five Years chronicles the romance between Jamie (Hadley Fraser) and Cathy (Paige Price). The show's unconventional structure - Cathy's story is told backwards while Jamie's is chronological - allows the audience to view their relationship in a fresh and revealing way. A combination of gorgeous music and world-class performances by Price and Fraser make this one of the most extraordinary professional theatre happenings that Aspen has ever seen.
Paige Price is a star of Broadway musical theatre with credits including Broadway's Saturday Night Fever, Smokey Joe's Café and the original cast of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. In addition to her prestigious Broadway career, Price has extensive regional credits, including Anything Goes, A Chorus Line, Crazy For You and 42nd Street, as well as substantial experience in film, television and commercials. Price is also a producer - her credits include Broadway Under the Stars in Central Park (also on CBS) and Broadway Rocks Chicago. Price also has a solo career and will perform (at the Theatre tent in August) her highly successful one-woman comedy with music, The eX-Files about the havoc that a career in show business has wreaked upon her love life.
Hadley Fraser comes to Aspen fresh from Broadway, where he wowed audiences as the male lead of The Pirate Queen, a musical epic by the Les Miserables and Miss Saigon team. Fraser has been a fixture on the British theatre scene with extensive West End, regional and European theatre experience including Pacific Overtures (Leicester Haymarket), Assassins at the Sheffield Crucible (TMA nominated), Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre, The Pirates of Penzance (Savoy Theatre) and many others.
